Ed Young and Fellowship Church: God is in Control

The Fellowship Church, founded by Ed Young, operates like many other Christian churches. The lessons, sermons, and wisdom it imparts to its congregants follow a Biblically-based set of core beliefs and tenants. These help guide the congregation and show them how they can create a special bond with God. Ed Young’s Church has specific beliefs on God, Man, Eternity, Jesus Christ, Salvation, Eternal Security, The Holy Spirit, and The Bible. And that’s just to name a few!

Ed Young and Humanity’s Mission

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, …” (Matthew 28:19)

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, as to reflect his character. He is the object of all of God’s creations. As Ed Young notes, while man has an amazing amount of potential for good, he is pre-disposed to disobedience towards God. This disobedience, otherwise known as “sin,” is based in humanity’s free will gained when Eve first ate from the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden.

Ed Young’s Wisdom: Heaven, Hell, and Christ

“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

According to Ed Young’s Fellowship Church, man was created to live forever, or eternity. Man will either exist separated from God in sin for eternity in Hell, or he’ll exist in union with him in Heaven.

“And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and is equal to the Father. He lived a life free of sin so he could offer himself as a perfect sacrifice on the cross for the body of humanity’s sins. He then rose three days later to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven where he remains until he returns as the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. Ed Young reminds followers of the incredible importance of belief in Christ and his mission.

Ed Young Talks Christ and Salvation

As Ed Young reinforces to his congregation, Salvation is a gift from God to man. Despite this gift, man cannot achieve salvation through good works and deeds alone. Instead, Salvation is gained by accepting Jesus Christ as God’s sacrifice for all of humanity. Eternal life begins the moment a sinner accepts Jesus Christ into their life through faith.

“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galations 3:26)

Ed Young: The Need for Christ in Our Lives

Using Scripture, Ed Young describes how followers of Christ can learn more about him to accept his teachings into their hearts. As Ed Young sees it, it’s his and all Pastor’s missions to spread Christ’s good words to as many believers and non-believers as possible.
